A division of New York Blood Center Enterprises, Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) is committed to providing convenient and quality educational resources and programs for hospital staff, residents/fellows, students, and anyone interested in blood banking and transfusion medicine. 

  • Bi-annual Technical Advisory Meetings (TAMs), offered free of charge, are available to keep hospital staff up to date on the latest industry developments. TAMs may include an education program where attendees can earn continuing education credits.
  • NCBB is also proud to offer AABB eCasts throughout the year. AABB eCasts are 60–90 minute online educational programs covering the most important topics in blood banking and transfusion medicine.

Upon request, NCBB is proud to support individuals in MLS, MLT or SBB programs who are in need of a clinical rotation at a blood center. The rotation may include both the theory and application of donation collection, component preparation, and quality assurance. We can arrange rotations in donor testing and the immunohematology reference laboratory with one of our blood center partners. To request a clinical rotation, contact us.

Behind-the-scenes tours of the donor center and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities offer hospital staff, students of laboratory programs, local residents, community groups, high school students, and others an opportunity to see donor services, blood component processing, and the distribution department. In addition to serving the professional development needs of the blood banking industry and the transfusion medicine community, knowledgeable experts and educators reach out to business and civic groups, high schools, and health-related service organizations to present at meetings, luncheons, or workshops on a variety of topics.
