Make a Difference Through Volunteering

Nebraska Community Blood Bank welcomes you to consider the role you can play in helping us meet the needs of our hospital partners and the patients, donors, and communities we serve. We will match your interests and skills with our current volunteer needs.
Being an NCBB volunteer is a rewarding way to make an impact in the community. We have an ongoing need for volunteers to help us out by:
Being a Canteen Host who thanks donors after they give and monitors for signs of post-donation reactions
Providing support at blood drives
Representing NCBB at health fairs and community events
Providing marketing support to help promote the need for blood donors
Volunteering at special events, such as donor recognition events and community races
Many ways to make a difference...
- Coordinate a Donor Day
Gather a group of friends, family, and coworkers for a special Donor Day event at one of our 4 donor center locations. These events are a unique opportunity to donate blood together as a group.
- Host a blood drive
Sponsor a blood drive at your business, community organization, civic club, or place of worship. Partner with Nebraska Community Blood Bank to connect your group of volunteer donors with those in need of their live-saving gift.
Visit the Host a Blood Drive page to learn more.
- Be a blood donor
The need for blood is constant. The supply is not. Become a regular blood donor and please ask others to donate, too. Friends, family, neighbors, and others throughout our community are depending on you.
Schedule an Appointment to donate blood now.
- Make a financial gift
Pay tribute to a loved one, honor a special birthday, attend a fundraiser, or include Nebraska Community Blood Bank in your estate planning. Just as the community depends on us for a readily available blood supply, we rely on the financial generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations to support our mission.
If you are interested in learning more about supporting our mission financially, please visit the Contribute page or contact Kari Lundeen at 402-486-9427.
