Can I Donate Blood?

As a blood donor, you are a vital part of a team of individuals working together to save the lives of hospital patients in our area. Most people qualify as blood donors, even if they are taking medications.

Basic Requirements to Donate Blood

Donating blood is safe and convenient when you are:

  • In good health
  • 17 years or older (16 with written parental consent)
  • At least 110 pounds (female donors aged 16-18 have additional height and weight restrictions)
  • Antibiotics (except antibiotics for acne) if taken for infection, accept 1 day after last dose provided donor meets all other criteria.
  • Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu
