Battle of the Badges

Show your support for the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) and Lincoln Fire & Rescue (LFR) by stepping up to donate blood at a Battle of the Badges blood drive, sponsored by Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB).

Battle of the Badges challenges first responders to bring together the community, friends, and family members in a friendly competition to save and sustain lives through blood donation. To support your local heroes—and help save lives—simply roll up your sleeve to give blood.

Save Lives, Get Rewarded

Those who donate at a Battle of the Badges blood drive will receive a coupon for a free sandwich from Firehouse Subs, and a coupon for a free pint at Blue Blood Brewery. Plus, all presenting donors are eligible for NCBB's other monthly promotions.

Make Your Donation Count

If you’re unable to make it to an official Battle of Badges blood drive but still want to show your support for your department of choice, donate at an NCBB donor center or blood drive through August 31. Make your choice by filling out a Count Me in Card located at registration and indicate if you are donating blood for LPD or LFR. The department with the highest donations wins the competition.

The winning team will walk away with the Battle of the Badges traveling trophy and bragging rights while members of the losing team will be on dog wash duty at the Capital Humane Society. Check back or visit NCBB social media for updates throughout the competition. The winning team will be announced early in September at the Capital Humane Society on 70th and Highway 2.

Who will the winner be? Regardless of your allegiance, the real winner will be the many lives sustained through your generosity as a volunteer blood donor. Hear from NCBB volunteer Logan Fitch whose father is a LPD officer and needed several units of blood when he suffered a spontaneous splenic artery rupture.

Schedule your donation now by calling 1-877-486-9414 or go online and type in the sponsor code. Walk-in donors are also welcome.
