A longtime Nebraska Community Blood Bank blood drive in Council Bluffs, Iowa got a boost this summer thanks to a renewed community partnership that tripled donations from the previous year.
The drive brought together the Council Bluffs Police Department, Council Bluffs Fire Department and City Hall, with Mayor Jill Shudak joining the effort to encourage community members to donate blood. Together, they collected 33 units, three times the number collected the previous year.
The collaboration also helped the drive qualify for Hometown Heroes funds benefiting the local chapter of The First Responders Foundation, extending its impact beyond blood donations.
Thank you to everyone who helped revitalize this drive and to all the donors who took the time to give!
