LINCOLN, NE – Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) recently held a memorial blood drive in honor of State Trooper Kyle McAcy, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in February. The event, held on Wednesday, May 21, at 4600 Innovation Drive in Lincoln, brought community members together in remembrance and resulted in the collection of 24 lifesaving units of blood.

His dedication and selfless service left a lasting impact on the community he served. In his memory, the Nebraska State Patrol and McAcy’s family encouraged the public to give back by donating blood – a gift that helps save lives every day.The blood drive served as a meaningful way to honor Trooper McAcy’s legacy and meet a critical community need. A single blood donation can save multiple lives, and blood donors are essential to patients facing cancer, trauma, surgeries, chronic illnesses, and more.Blood donors can give every 56 days, and platelet donors can give twice a month. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently updated eligibility guidelines, opening the door for more people to donate.
