As an O-negative donor, you’re on the front line of saving lives. Although only 7% of people have your blood type, 100% of people can use it. That makes you one of the brightest stars in our universe.

Join our Universal Lifesaver loyalty program and put your donations to work. Program members receive limited-edition gifts all year round as our thanks for stopping by to donate and helping maintain a stable supply of universal O-negative blood.

How does it work? Every time you come in to donate in 2026, you can register to receive a new, exclusive gift as thanks.

Come in this January or February to donate blood and receive a one-of-a-kind stainless food container as our thanks.

Double red cell donors who register and come in to donate will receive the stated gift as well as a $15 eGift card.

Terms and Conditions

To qualify for the 2026 Universal Lifesaver program:

• Your blood type must be O-negative.
• You must register for each gift. Registration must take place by the last day of a gift cycle. You will need to be logged into your donor profile in order to register.
• You must be registered and present to donate whole blood or double red cells during the designated promotion period to receive the corresponding gift.
• O-negative whole blood donors who complete the requirements will receive the gift offered during the timeframe listed above.
• O-negative double red cell donors who complete the requirements will receive the gift offered during the timeframe listed above and, in addition, a $15 eGift card sent to their email address on file.
• Gifts will be mailed to donors. Please ensure your shipping address on file is correct.
• Please note that the actual gifts may differ slightly from the image pictured.

Gifts will be fulfilled by the following dates:

• Stainless food container – March 28, 2026
• Portable fan – May 28, 2026
• eGift card – July 28, 2026
• Lunch box – September 28, 2026
• Mini tote – November 28, 2026
• Winter texting gloves – January 28, 2027

Our gifts are custom-made to order. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for donors who do not meet program criteria or who missed the registration time frame.

Registered Universal Lifesavers who qualified for the 2025 November-December All wrapped up knit scarf will receive their gift by mail. Gifts will be fulfilled by January 28, 2026.

Qualified Universal Lifesavers who donated double red cells will also receive a $15 eGift card sent to their email address on file.
