Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) was recently honored as the Omaha Storm Chasers “Nonprofit of the Night,” providing an opportunity to engage directly with fans and share the ongoing need for blood donations in our region.
During the event, NCBB Business Development Manager Rachel Scott took the field to speak with attendees about the current blood emergency and the critical importance of maintaining a strong, readily available blood supply for local patients. Her remarks emphasized how donor participation directly supports hospitals and emergency care across the community.
Adding to the evening’s highlights, ABO Joe had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch, helping bring visibility and energy to NCBB’s mission in a memorable way for fans at the ballpark.
NCBB extends its sincere thanks to the Omaha Storm Chasers for their continued partnership and commitment to supporting local health needs. Events like this help raise awareness and reinforce the importance of community donors in sustaining the blood supply.
Looking ahead, NCBB will host a blood drive at Werner Park on Thursday, June 25. Community members are encouraged to step up to the plate and help save lives this summer by scheduling an appointment in advance.
