Host a Donor Day

Donor Day celebrations provide a unique opportunity to bring together a group of people to give the gift of life-saving blood. Nebraska Community Blood Bank invites you to host your own Donor Day with friends, co-workers, or family members to help local patients in need.

Please note: Nebraska Community Blood Bank is taking additional precautions at all donation sites to ensure the safety of donors and staff, including a COVID-19 self-screening policy. We ask that all donors schedule appointments ahead of time, and donor beds may be spaced out to comply with social distancing. We donated in honor of Cameron who was born prematurely. His parents are forever grateful for the blood he received. For many of us, it was our first time donating and we were nervous. Nebraska Community Blood Bank staff were wonderful and quickly calmed our nerves. Thank you!

How Do I Get Started?

Your group of committed donors can make a big impact by hosting your own Donor Day at a Nebraska Community Blood Bank donor center. Depending on the number of participants, your Donor Day can take place over a few hours in a single day or over the course of a few days. Here’s how it works:

  1. Survey your group to determine how many blood donors will want to participate in your Donor Day.
  2. At least two weeks prior to your Donor Day, contact us. Let us help you right from the start.
  3. Once you have recruited donors, we will walk you through the process: setting a date, selecting a convenient donor center location, and scheduling donation appointments.
  4. Hosting a Donor Day is a great way to celebrate a special occasion! You’re welcome to bring balloons, cake or treats to celebrate!
