The Nebraska Community Blood Bank’s (NCBB) Hometown Heroes (HH) campaign offers communities an opportunity to earn monetary awards for their emergency responders (fire dept. and/or rescue squads) based on the success of their blood drives.
Every community outside the Lincoln city limits is eligible to participate in the HH campaign. The HH campaign runs Memorial Day (5/28/12) through Labor Day (9/3/12).
All awarded funds go towards the purchase of emergency response equipment or training for the community. In order to be eligible for HH monetary awards, the following requirements must be met:
• Blood drives are held with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.
• HH blood drives take place within the HH campaign time frame (5/28-9/3/12).
• A community must meet minimum registration or collection goal. The NCBB representative and the volunteer blood drive coordinator will determine the minimum number of registered donors needed.
All HH awards will be presented in the fall.
Blood drives can be scheduled by contacting an NCBB Blood Drive Recruiter at 402.486.9427 or 402.486.9409.
